We Are... Minnesota Spirit Initiative

Claire Winderl, Spirit Initiative Intern

Hey Gopher fans! My name is Claire Winderl, and I am a senior Sport Management major. I am the We Are…Minnesota Spirit Initiative intern responsible for Men's Hockey and the Ice Box this year. I love hockey, especially the Gophers, and can't wait to be a part of the University of Minnesota's Pride on Ice. I am very excited to work with Dane and Kaitlin to share our enthusiasm and Gopher pride to students at athletic events. As Gophers, we bleed maroon and gold, and we hope to pack our student sections this year at hockey, football, and basketball games. We want you in the stands to help us continue spreading the spirited traditions and supporting our teams! Dane Heig, Spirit Initiative Intern

Hello! My name is Dane Heig and I am a senior majoring in Communications with a minor in Sport Management. As a We Are…Minnesota intern, I will be the head football intern, finding ways to always increase the spirit and atmosphere at Gopher Football games through the Rooter Club and lending a hand to Claire and Kaitlin with hockey and basketball, as well. The opportunity to promote Gopher pride through the students is why I am here, and I look forward to turning the football Rooter Club into one of the best student spirit sections in the country. We also look forward to leading all the students sections in both the classic cheers, as well as some new ones to add to the Gopher tradition. Kaitlin Zarecki, Spirit Initiative Intern

Hey fellow Gophers, my name is Kaitlin Zarecki, and I am a senior majoring in Sport Management. As a We Are... Minnesota Spirit Initiative intern, I'm very excited to promote positive Gopher pride and spirit across our campus. This year, I will primarily be working with the Barnyard to expand intense Gopher Spirit at Gopher basketball games to help make the Barnyard one of the best college student sections in the country! I am also thrilled to work closely with Dane and Claire to create a positive game day atmosphere for all fans at hockey and football events.
